I specialise in family portraits from maternity and newborns through to teenagers and large family groups. Dogs are genuinely welcome, not an afterthought. I photograph families exactly as they are, real moments, real expressions, no stiff posing.

Sessions run under an hour, I keep things moving and nobody has to stand around looking awkward. Mums who feel self-conscious about how they look since having kids, I hear you too. It's my job to make you look good, and I take that seriously.

I've been photographing families on Sydney's North Shore for 23 years. My studio at Gordon is 175 square metres with three huge arch windows and feels like a beautiful home, not a clinical white box. I photograph families as they actually are, messy, loud, dogs included. No stiff posing, no forced smiles. And unlike most studios, if you come on a weekday your ordering session happens the same day, so you're not waiting weeks to see your photos.

Sessions run Tuesday to Saturday between 9am and 5pm. I have an online calendar where you can see all available times and book directly, so coordinating around school, work and sport is straightforward.

I don't expect them to. My style is built around kids moving, playing and being themselves. I've photographed thousands of toddlers, teenagers and everything in between. The chaos usually makes for the best photos.

I take my time. I'll spend the first few minutes just talking to them, getting them comfortable before I pick up a camera. Shy kids almost always come around, and when they do the photos are worth the wait.

Yes. Newborn sessions are available on weekdays only to allow extra time for feeding and settling. I'll send you everything you need to know when you book.

I usually book newborn sessions for around 10 to 14 days after your due date, and we'll happily move it once your baby arrives. That said, if your little one is a bit older, that's no problem at all. A newborn session can happen any time in the first six weeks or so, and I never want a mum feeling she has to rush in by day 14. We'll find a time that works for you and your baby.

My newborn sessions aren't about posing your baby into shapes. They're about your baby in mum and dad's arms, being cuddled and kissed, the way they actually are at this age. I'll take a few simple photos of baby on their own too, but nothing elaborate, and there's no expectation that they'll be asleep. We go at your baby's pace with all the time they need for feeds and settling, which is why newborn sessions run on weekdays only. After 23 years I know how to keep a newborn calm, comfortable and safe the whole way through.

Yes, and I mean it. Dogs are photographed as part of the family, not tolerated as an add-on. The studio is super pet friendly and I'm used to wrangling animals as much as kids, so don't be nervous, always bring your dog. And it's not just dogs. I'm happy to include other pets too. I've photographed cats, rabbits, chickens and even a stick insect. If your family has a pet you want in the photos, they're more than welcome.

When you book I'll send you a detailed guide on how to put outfits together for your whole family. It covers colours, what to avoid and how to make everyone look cohesive without being matchy-matchy.

Allow around an hour. It's the perfect amount of time to get a great variety of images without anyone feeling stressed or like it's all become too much. In that hour I'll photograph the whole family together, the kids on their own and plenty in between, so you'll have lots of choice when it comes to picking your favourites.

Most families invest between $500 and $3,000. After your session I'll show you your images on a large screen and help you choose your favourites. There's no minimum spend and payment plans are available at no extra cost from $300 per month. You'll receive full pricing information before your session so there are no surprises.

If you pick a weekday session you get to see your images the same day, so you're not waiting weeks just to see them. If you're on a weekend, viewing times are available from the following week. Prints and albums take two to three weeks to be ready, and your digital files are delivered within 48 hours.

Yes. If something unexpected comes up, you can reschedule once at no charge.

I just ask that you give me at least 2 weeks notice so I have the chance to rebook that time slot.
