BOOKING YOUR NEWBORN SESSION
I know that as an expecting parent, the idea of bringing a brand-new baby into a studio can feel a little daunting.
I wanted to share a bit about how I work so you can feel completely at ease.
I follow a gentle, baby-led rhythm, which means there is never any pressure for your baby to be perfectly asleep.
I find so much beauty in the quiet, alert moments.
My focus is simply on a settled and content baby—so if we need to pause for a quiet feed or a soothing cuddle to get them there, that’s exactly what we do.
My focus is on creating a space where you feel comfortable and celebrated.
I use soft, natural light and gentle direction to ensure we capture the most flattering, soulful portraits of you with your new arrival.
You deserve to be in the frame, looking and feeling beautiful, as you start this new chapter.
Should I do this?
The newborn stage is the most fleeting stage of your child's life. Those first days will feel like a blur. Capturing this stage isn't just about a pretty picture; it’s about freezing the feeling of being a new parent.

Book your session
Most families book for 10 days after their due date.
My calendar below will show you available times & dates.
I only take a limited number of sessions per month, so I recommend booking in as soon as possible so I can guarantee to fit you in.
Planning
Planning is really important – check out our Instagram page as this will give you a feel for the sort of clothing that works well & the kind of photos I will take.
Once you’ve locked in your session time, I’ll send you our guide on what to wear and everything you need to know to prepare for your session.
Your session
If your little one hasn’t fed, or needs a cuddle, I make sure we have plenty of time for this.
I’m a mum of 3, and I’ve been a photographer for 23 yrs, so I’ll help & guide you through your session.
Straight after your session you can relax with a lunch or coffee for 1/2 hour as I prepare your images for viewing.
Make it stand out
This is the fun part. We will go through your images and select your favourites.
If you wish to add on albums, prints or frames at this point, I’ll help with the design for this as well.
Who is included
We love to include older siblings & fur babies in your sessions.
There is nothing more magical to see the wonder and amazement of an older child at their brand new baby sibling.
I photograph kids of all ages, so no matter what their age is, I will be able to capture some special memories of this special new relationship.

We had such a great experience with Kate. Friendly, professional and patient, she made wrangling a newborn and a cocker spaniel feel like child’s play, and the whole session was streamlined and efficient, with every practicality thought of.
Anyone who has a friendly, inquisitive dog and/or an unpredictable newborn can tell you how difficult it is to get decent photographs of everyone in a group setting, but Kate made it seem easy!
We were even able to see the photographs on the same day and choose our preferred products immediately.
And, the photos themselves are absolutely adorable - funny, touching and memorable, they were exactly what we hoped for and we’ll cherish them for years to come.
