A GUIDE TO BOOKING YOUR NEWBORN SESSION

Imagine it's eighteen years from now.

That little person who's been wriggling inside you and kicking you awake at 3am has just finished their HSC and is about to leave for a gap year in Europe.

And you're standing in the kitchen, trying to remember those first few days. How they fit in the crook of your arm. The way they smelled. How their eyelids fluttered when they were dreaming. Those tiny hands wrapping around your finger. The faces they pulled as they tried so hard to focus on your face.

It's all gone a bit blurry, hasn't it.

When they're this small, we're certain we'll remember every detail. But life moves quickly and those memories fade faster than you'd expect.

That's why I do what I do.

About the studio

I'm based in Gordon on Sydney's North Shore. My studio has been designed to feel like a beautiful home, not a photography studio. Three enormous arched windows flood the space with natural light. There's a fireplace, a bed and comfortable seating so you, your partner, older children and your dog can settle in and actually relax.

I specialise in natural, lifestyle newborn portraits. Real moments, warm light and your family exactly as you are right now. Dogs are completely welcome. They're part of the family and they belong in these photos.

When should I book?

The best time to book is while you're still pregnant. I'll reserve a session time for around ten days after your due date, and we can easily move it once your baby arrives. Babies rarely arrive on schedule and I work around that. No stress.

The first two weeks are the ideal window for newborn portraits, but I understand that getting out of the house with a brand new baby isn't always straightforward. If you need a little longer, that's completely fine. We'll find a time that works for you.

What if I've had a caesarean?

Your comfort is my priority. The studio has relaxed seating so you can sit, feed and rest as much as you need to throughout the session. I keep water and snacks on hand. There's nothing you need to organise or worry about. You just need to show up.

Can I include siblings, family and the dog?

Absolutely. A newborn session is a family session, and I love capturing the moment older siblings meet their new baby for the first time. It doesn't matter how old they are. Fur babies are very welcome too.

I also make sure mum looks her best in every photo. You've just had a baby. My job is to make you look and feel amazing, not just point a camera at you.

When are sessions available?

Sessions run Tuesday to Friday between 9am and 2pm.

If this is your first baby, I'd suggest a midday session. It gives you plenty of time to get ready without rushing, and lets you feed the baby before you arrive.

If you have older children who still nap, a 10am session usually works better so we're not cutting into their lunchtime sleep.

Are you immunised?

Yes. I'm fully immunised. Your baby's health and safety come first, always.

How much are the photos?

Most families invest between $500 and $2,000 depending on what they'd like to take home. I offer a range of wall art, print collections and digital file packages, so there's something to suit most budgets. I accept all major credit cards including AMEX, and interest-free payment plans are available from $300 per month.
