Your Corporate Headshot Style Guide

Everything you need to know to show up looking absolutely amazing

We are SO excited to photograph you!
Before your session, we wanted to share a few simple style tips to help you feel confident and camera-ready.
Don't stress β€” there are no strict rules here, just friendly advice to make sure your headshots look as great as you do.

πŸ‘— Clothing & Colours

Stick to solid colours where you can. Solid tones photograph beautifully and keep the focus exactly where it should be β€” on you. Some of our favourite choices are:

  • Navy, cobalt and deep blues β€” universally flattering and look incredible on camera

  • Soft neutrals β€” stone, camel, cream and blush are elegant and timeless

  • Rich jewel tones β€” emerald, burgundy and deep teal add a gorgeous pop without being distracting

  • Classic black and white β€” always a winner for a polished, professional look

Fit is everything. Whatever you wear, make sure it fits you well right now, not after a few more gym sessions, not how it fit two years ago. Clothes that fit properly look a thousand times better on camera than something too big or too tight.

Layers are your friend. A well-fitted blazer, structured jacket or classic cardigan instantly adds polish. If you want to bring a couple of outfit options, go for it β€” we love a wardrobe change!

πŸ’Ž Jewellery & Accessories

Less is generally more for headshots, but that doesn't mean boring!

Great choices:

  • Simple stud earrings or small hoops

  • A delicate necklace that sits nicely with your neckline

  • A classic watch or minimal bracelet if it'll be in frame

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Very large, dangly or statement earrings can draw attention away from your face

  • Chunky, layered necklaces can clutter a neckline β€” save those for your Instagram grid πŸ˜„

  • If jewellery is meaningful to you and feels like you, bring it along and we'll figure it out together

🚫 What to Avoid (The Stuff Nobody Tells You!)

Busy patterns and prints. Stripes, checks, florals and bold patterns can create a visual effect on camera called moirΓ© β€” basically a weird flickering that looks distracting in photos. When in doubt, go solid.

Neon and very bright colours. These can cast a colour reflection onto your skin and make editing tricky. They also tend to dominate the image rather than complement it.

Logos and branded clothing. Unless you're specifically being photographed for brand content, logos can date your headshots and look out of place in a professional context.

Clothes you're not comfortable in. If you have to tug it, adjust it or think about it, leave it at home. Comfort shows on camera β€” and so does discomfort!

Rushed preparation. Give your outfit a trial run the day before. Try it on, move around in it, sit down in it. A quick iron or steam goes a long way too.

A Little Note Before You Arrive ✨

The single most important thing you can bring to your session isn't in your wardrobe β€” it's confidence.
You don't need to look like someone else or perform a version of yourself that feels stiff or serious. The best headshots capture the real you: professional, warm, and completely yourself.

We'll guide you through every pose and expression β€” you genuinely don't need any experience in front of a camera.
Our job is to make you feel relaxed and to capture you at your absolute best.

We can't wait to meet you! πŸ’›
