Hamish's family session

I first met Carly when I photographed her family for her Dad’s 60th birthday, so it was exciting to hear that she had won a family session in the competition that we held at the One Fine Baby Fair, and she now had a 21mth old toddler Hamish. It was the perfect time to capture their first family portrait.

We had the perfect weather for their family session, when we met at our stunning bush location for their outdoor photography session. We wandered through the bush chatting about their family. The outdoor location is perfect for a more lifestyle, relaxed feel to the photos.

Hamish was super keen to explore, and as soon as mum and dad put him down, he would wander off down the path. He’s such a little boy, with no fear, just natural curiosity.

He brought his diggers along for the session, as he’s very much into Bob the Builder. He also loves purple flowers and birds, so we kept our eyes open through the session for them. He was super excited when he heard some cockatoos. When I told him about the owls in the forest, he was super excited to tell me the noise that owls make.

I think the part of the session he loved the most was when mum and dad tossed him in the air.

Our outdoor location has lots of amazing little spots, with perfect light, for capturing active little toddlers and capturing beautiful classic images that will be treasured forever.
I awlays try to grab a photo of mum & dad together, as it’s super important for them to have some special moments together too :)
